Rachael was talking about how there seems to be a lot of religious symbolism in here. So I thought I would share:
This is totally the Cain and Abel story. Like, not based on it, but fer real. But then it continues. Otherwise this comic would be really short.

hey dakota, i like the way you killed of the guy. and i like how you said, "stop thinking about it and just do it" people should think that more often. that crow is fucking crazy. you know what? if i didn't know better i'd think this is a fucking indian story. you know with those goddamned injuns. yeah definitely seems like an injun story. i don't have to go over how i like the style in this comic. also in reference to what we talked about about the panels, i actually like the simplicity of the paneling. its kindof nice and reliable that they are always gonna look like nice hand drawn squares and rectangles.
ReplyDeletei actually really like the killing him panel. just the way he stands triumphant and angry in the background is really great, his pose especially. did you draw this after your foreshortening class? the expression on his face is good too. i feel like he could look a little angrier or more emotional, but it would be hard to do that without making it look cheesy.
if you were a manga artist there would be crazy lines of anger emanating from his head in that panel.
why is the basket bleeding? what is the name of the crow? you should read kafka on the shore.
