sketch dump

okay i know i've been really bad about updating/commenting. please try to understand that i have been severely deprived of food, sleep, and personal hygiene practices for a sustained period of time. this is just an update to prove that i have not quit doing art. (HI ADAM! i'm so stoked you've become a contributor!)
what a general rough draft of a comic page looks like.
for art class. based on scenes from project 1, working title "amaranth."

some close ups:

finally: current draft of project 2, working title "ellipsis."

again, apologies for lack of updates/comments.

Some stuff I did in Printmaking class.

Okay, I know I already posted this, but now the boys are together. Its better that way, right?

Ok, so first here's a drawing I did as practice for Allison's birthday present. Allison, for some reason the ship took longer, but was way easier then the airplane. I drew like 8 dumb planes before I did yours.

These next ones are all prints. Prints are kind of fun, but it's super hard to draw, cause you cant erase and you have to carve it out of zinc and it is just way too much work.

Ok, yeah. Thats all.

Hello all,
Adam LaMotte here. Long time listener, first time caller. Here are three new pieces that I've made in the last few months...

What I got here is a watercolor illustration of what it felt like to read Voltaire's Candide. 'Nuff said.

This one is my first painting with acrylic. It's based on a photo of Rara Lake, in Nepal. By no design of my own, this piece can now be found floating its way down the Hudson River.

I started this one with the smoke/chemicals on the left, and had no idea what it was going to turn into. After making the pipes is when I realized it was definitely going to be a factory.

decent doodles

Itsa me, Maaario!

i had a bit of a doodle sesh with my architecture friend jeremy (he's an architecture student which means he's good at art) i like the silly dog he drew.

I keep drawing people and trying to make them look attractive and white.  it kinda sucks i wish i would doodle something more interesting.

I think its because i've been in comics mode lately.  i just keep trying to draw comic-book style.  here's wonderwoman.

Superman, except i kinda messed up his head, and his S and he looks stupid. i dunno how to draw muscles.

fat wonderwoman.

Here's what i mean, the people i draw are looking more and more like jim-lee style comic people.  which i'm not sure i like because jim lee's art, while good for the comic book genre, i find kinda offensive sometimes.  he kindof exploits men and women in his drawing, everyone is a sex symbol.

wow i can't believe i'll be seeing you guys soon.

Hey man I made some stuff.

Okay, so I had to make a "time based piece" for my 4D piece. I asked if a comic was ok, and my teacher said yes. So I did a comic of a dream I had awhile ago.

So, in case you don't understand what's going on, cause dream logic is weird... and I cannot draw likeness. And other reasons. So, I had a dream me and Colton were walking in New Mexico or some desert like that, and we came across this toddler girl. She had the stigmata or something, cause her hands were bleeding. She also had cuts on her back. Me and Colton picked her up, and realized the people who did it to her were pretty close, so we ran back to our house which was like an adobe house. So we went in, and Colton kept being all heroic, and saying "You hide" and "It'll be OK." In the actual dream I was found by my mom, and we convinced her to keep the girl and started to introduce her to family friends and stuff, but it seemed better to end it before that.
And I totally finished this shit in 3 1/2 hours. Fuck yeah.

Some sketchbook stuff. I finished my 3rd sketchbook this year. My record. My average is now a sketchbook every 2.5 months.

Basically 50% of my doodles have been of beautiful (to me) boys. Some of their ages are questionable, but I don't want to have sex with them. Just look at them. And draw them. Also, I now have a total fetish for curly hair. Curls. Curls are better then boobs. Better then legs. Oh god.

Kinda anime... eugh.

Also, someday I will do a boy in a sailor suit. (Like, an 18 year old). If he's a real sailor, that's a plus.

Tadzio, or Bjorn Andreson. Bjorn plays Tadzio in Death in Venice. He rocks the sailor suit. Also, he was like 15-16 in his prime sexy years. That's ok, right?

Inspired by Allison's Bjorn picture. I love the way you drew the hair. It looks a little weird cause I was in math and didn't have anything to reference to see what humans looked like, not even a mirror. Whatev. It turns me on.

This boy is next to the first boy, but the scanner can't get both of them.

These guys are characters from my comic I haven't started, but have the plot for, and have been thinking of for like 5 years. This is a weird picture though, it doesn't look like them.

Another one of them. This one looks right.
