Working title: "Invictus"

The recent flurry of activity has made me feel like I should update.

Recently the vast majority of my free time (and some of the time when I should be working) has been spent dedicated to a desperate, doomed effort to hammer out a written draft of my comic book before school starts. I have next to nothing in terms of art at this point, but here are some progress notes.

The final cast list:
Christian Bale as Marco Capaldi (34): our suave, sexy, and oh-so-mentally-unstable antihero. Inherited the throne of the Italian-American mafia at age 17 (the governing body of the American Mafia, "the Commission", is actually currently a power-sharing agreement between the five most powerful crime families in the country; the system is designed specifically to prevent one man from having too much authority, but for the sake of the story I modeled the structure of the Commission after its early form in which one person is in control) from his father, infamous mob boss Delano Capaldi.

Leonardo DiCaprio as Jared DiSano (no I did not do that on purpose) (32): Capaldi's childhood friend and second-in-command.
Jason Bateman as Frank Connors (39): Former operative for D'Asola Strategies LLC (see below). Married, father of two, retired from the world of military and political intrigue for a few peaceful years until he's dragged back into service as a result of Capaldi's rise to prominence.
Angelina Jolie as Gia Meric (42): Former executive of D'Asola Strategies LLC, a highly controversial private military company. D'Asola was previously one of the US government's largest private security contractors, but spent most of its years in the public eye fighting off accusations of espionage, perjury, torture, etc. As existing government agencies (i.e. the FBI and the CIA) get bogged down in controversy, the the need to create a new agency arises, which is how the State Security Agency is born. The SSA is essentially D'Asola working under a government charter; Meric is appointed Director of the SSA and retains most of her staff and (inter)national contacts in the transition.

Mary-Louise Parker as Leah Connors (40): Frank's wife of 12 years.

Daniel Craig as Aaron Anderson (48): Meric's second-in-command.

Marion Cotillard as Sonja Korhonen (26): I don't want to give anything away with her and I can't think of anything to put here without doing so.

I've figured out the major plot points; I know which characters are going to live and which ones are going to die. I'm in the middle of writing a couple of big dramatic scenes but none of them are really linked together yet. I've been wrestling with the story for over a year and I'm realllly hoping I can get something out of it, but let's just leave it at that there's lots of sex, betrayal, death, and Christian Bale walking around in a suit, so this can't go too horribly wrong.

    hahaha too true.

also daniel craig has to do a lot of dirty fighting and killing. i don't want you to copy eastern promises but i think there should be a nude fight scene.

star studded cast rachael, but i think jolie might suck unless you make her a lesbian. she does best in lesbian roles.

  2. Oh Rachael. You are so predictable. I already can foresee the whole plot. Watch.

Christian Bale is in charge of American mafia. He is supposed to be the epitome of masculinity. So why can't he stop thinking about his childhood friend and partner, Leonardo?
His horror at his secret longings cause him to become unstable, and Leo has to choose between his loyalty to the increasingly abusive Christian or the mafia, which Christian is slowly tearing apart with his madness.
Leo begins to drink heavily, thinking of his choice. While at a sports bar he meets Jason Bateman, a stable family man. Leo finds that he likes the stability, and finds himself drawn towards the more mature Jason. But Jason is not so stable as Leo believes. He has a secret. He is trying to take down Christian Bale and Leos beloved mafia, with his team.
Angelina is in charge of the team of D'Asola team, and is known for her cruelty and quick temper. She runs her team with an iron fist, and nobody knows that she has her own weakness. Sonja lives at her house as her maid, and also occupies the only soft part of Angelinas heart. However, Angelina is scared to tell teh innocent Sonja about her feelings, scared it will frighten her away.
Daniel Craig is a total slut and sleeps with everyone, causing jealousy and confusion abound.
Marie Louise Parker gets beat up by Angelina really sexily at one point.

    DUHHHHH.

  3. To be the best it can be the story should include a violent love/obsession confession from Christian to Leo, where Leo does, or almost gets raped, a much sweeter romantic tension between Leo and Christian, Angelina beating the shit out of people, sometimes to protect Sonja, and Daniel Craig doing people top and bottom.

And Christian Bale in a suit alot.

  4. um wow. i guess there's no point in me even writing the story now. WAY TO RUIN EVERYTHING.

also i was watching an old interview with matt damon and leonardo dicaprio while they were promoting "the departed." matt got asked a question about how the relationship between their characters affected their relationship in real life, and he made some joke about how leo was rougher in bed or something, and that is the only time the idea of two men going at it has ever done anything for me. so don't even joke about christian and leo. my head will probably explode.

  6. and on a side note: between jolie and parker, i'd put my money on parker doing the ass-kicking.

  7. Yeah, but Parker just doesnt do it for me. Something about her just doesnt say "Be lesbo for me Dakota."
Also, I saw that interview, and I am not even that into Matt Damon, and I was a kinda turned on. So dont worry. However, I turned myself on thinking about violent Bale/Leo sex.

  8. maybe there's something wrong with me but i can't get turned on by bale leo sex. i can't even imagine it. i'll try harder but i'm pretty sure nothing will happen.

also, rachael: how could you say that parker would beat jolie? did you NOT see tomb raider?
