Doodles + comic

I am not dead, nor have I stopped drawing. You guys are making me look bad.

Please look at all these blown up (comic pages especially)...they look much better.

Doodles first.

These were inspired by watching the "Terminator: Salvation" trailer on the YouTubes. I have not seen this movie and probably never will, but I'm kind of digging the whole post-apocalyptic guerrilla soldier look.

More Terminator stuff. I have a lot of trouble with color which is why the guys' face is so dark; I just kept adding layers.

And since I'm spending so much time with it I figured I should show you guys what I've been up to with the comic; something about seeing it on the computer screen makes me so much less satisfied with it. I have to scan all this stuff into photoshop so I can take out the text so I played around with the colors a little. It's gray in real life but I kind of liked the blue treatment so I'm sticking with it.

10 Dead Princes Part 4 and 5: The Plague and Shot

Hey, so I got some more dead princes for all ya'll. I thought about this series while I was painting them, and I should say, a lot of the inspiration is coming from 120 Days of Sodom. That book is fucked up. (Plot=4 pervy noblemen locked in a castle with a harem of young boys and girls and the terrible things they do to them). I am already uncomfortable reading it, and they are not even killing or hurting anyone in their harem yet, but there is urine involved in like 50% of their shenanigans.

Ok, anyway, here is my 4th Dead Prince. This is of the plague.
I never knew vomiting blood was part of having the plague until I researched it. The Black Death was disgusting but so interesting. I mean, it makes sense, but I was amazed to learn it was the biggest epidemic of all time.

Dude. Why couldn't it have been an epidemic where people die peacefully in their sleep? Eugh.

And lots of people think that it was the cause of modern anti-semitism (and to a point, the Holocaust), because Jews kept cats, so they were not infected so much, and they became scapegoats. So it's possible that the black death continued killing vicariously.

Crazy.

Ok, too many tangents. I am Mr. Morgan.

This next dead prince got Saint Sebastianed. Bam!

Yup.

Hey, these are pretty quick. I only started this a bit over a week ago and I'm halfway done. I don't understand why the AP Portfolio took so long. These are about the same quality, (better, even, then some of my shittier pieces). Just tack on two more dead princes and I have a concentration. (I wonder what Mrs. O would say about it though).

10 Dead Princes Part 3: Disembowelment

Ok, so this is my 3rd dead prince. He has been disemboweled. Basically, I had fun trying to make his organs kind of cute. Also, a more limited color palette so his organs would stand out.

Also, I love in fountains when they have those little boys holding fish and smiling. They have some in my favorite fountain, The Fountain of the Great Lakes. Basically, it's a statue of a bunch of ladies pouring water on each other, and each lady represents a lake. And there are the fish boys on the side. I would look it up if I were you. I love it and read there all the time. Also, Allison, you have been there a couple times, I talk to you there a lot.

This next guy was going to be another dead prince, but I'm not so sure. It just doesn't really fit in with the others, and also, I feel I could do more with drowning then this. But, I had fun doing the wet shirt effect.

These are some sketches from my life drawing class. This man was not as handsome as I drew him, but I accidentally made him look like Tom Selleck from Magnum P.I. and I liked it. He also reminds me of Commissioner Gordon a bit.

My class said these next ones looked like communist propaganda art.

A blind contour of a Bodhisattva, I believe.

This was one of those modified contour things where you couldn't look when you draw but you could in between things.
A dude dressed like Bacchus. He was sexy, but I did not capture that in my picture.

Secretly, I don't love my life drawing class. Six hours is too long to go without sitting down. And I get stressed out and don't make good stuff.

birthdays

hey guys. i actually have tons and tons of doodles. sometimes in one class i'll draw up to six pages of legit doodle wall material. but they're all the same. i just keep drawing faces of people to practice face shapes and shading but i find them all uninteresting. They are basically expressionless floating heads and sometimes shoulders. I want to draw people that aren't just standing and staring blankly. so i'm going to try to do that more. thats why i was so happy with the one where that girl is sitting on the steps talking to that guy. because its a scene.

anyways here are some birthday cards I made and one birthday present.

i love making shirts.

10 Dead Princes Part 2: Strangulation

Ok, this is my second dead prince. The last one was kinda French, with all the Louis the Roman Numeral furniture and colors and stuff. This one is more medieval I guess. Sorry Allison, for taking you're color palette and reversing it. I'm not good with color theory. I have the primary colors and that is it.
I don't like to be egotistical (I do) but the bruising around the neck looks pretty nice in real life.

EDIT: This is what the picture looks like with out and color saturation. I usually saturate the color so that you can see what is going on in the small view that we get for the doodlewall. However, I feel like I have gone too far with it recently, like the ladies who are addicted to plastic surgery and look weird but don't realize it.

This is the part of the comic for that dude I'm doing the comic for.

Bulletin!

today doodle: scot lit class

on the way to class saw two people sitting and talking the girl said, "when my mom dies..." and i wanted to draw it. they didn't look like that at all but oh well.

doodle w-ALLSTAR! fuck you dakota! fuck you dorfin!

Guess who isn't at art school but still gets a shit ton of doodling done?

I call the next series: Hungover, or Animals that want to die

Getting ready to be dexter on halloween.

There is one steampunk elevator in a library on campus. I tried to take a panorama of it but my flash and the shiny metal made the colors turn out weird. oh well you get the idea.

Here's a nicer one without flash where you can actually see the steam punkness.

you're just mad cuz i haven't commented on your last post

That title's to you dakota. Fuck you, and i'm posting now biotch. and showing my process. which is something you never do. (i'm not mad or anything, sorry i haven't commented. i promise i will soon.)

I drew a dead prince too. Here first is the pencil sketch.

Next is the nice clean pen version.

This is it all nice and colored in. Since I lost the watercolor box dakota gave me, I am too scared to use the squeeze tube watercolors i have, or the color pencils. This is done in photoshop.

Once I put it in I was like, oh well i might as well 'try' shading. so i did. the end result is a lot darker than the solid color one. i think i like the solid color one more, but i'm glad i tried shading.

okay. bye.

10 Dead Princes: Part 1: Poison, Hi Five the Cactus and Comic...

Hey dudes. Dakota again, sorry for posting twice in a row. But you don't have to comment on the last one, it's just comic stuff. (Ha Rachael! You already did!)

So I haven't been doing much art besides the comic recently, even in my classes much, cause my academic classes are surprisingly demanding.

However, I heard this title "100 Dead Princes" and it was like a punch in the stomach. It turned out it was the title for this girls art thing, and it was kinda sketchy and not really anything I'm into, but I couldn't get the title out of my head for weeks.

So, I am doing 10 Dead Princes. Whenever I don't know what to paint when I'm at home (not in class!) I'll do another dead prince. I have so many ideas.

But, I am not even really into gory stuff. It makes me a little uncomfortable. I mean, this is a macabre as I get... and it's all in pastels.

P.S. This is my second time painting barf.

Also, everyone was doing Hi Five Fanart, so I though I should do some too. Peer pressure... I can't believe I don't smoke.

It's basically the same as the others, except this one has animals. Also, the scanner made the yellows and greens super bright, but I kind of like it. I like the lightheartedness of a revenge story.

Like I said before, if I were Hi Five, I would not have killed the cowboy, because he didn't actually do any teasing, just got amusement from it, but I love that Hi Five did kill him. So badass.

Also, this is part of my storyboard for my short movie I am making. If things go according to my current game plan, this is what I will be doing for the rest of my life for money. (Right now I plan on being a storyboarder).

And, of course, more comic...

Cain! Do it now! He's asleep and can't fight back!!! And if you do it now my story will be way shorter! And more fun to draw!
Ach, but Cain isn't having those immoral thoughts at this part of the story. Shit.

THIS IS THE 50th PAGE!!!!!! 50 PAGES DONE!
