Bowl and Photos

Yo YO YO! Adam here, got some new stuff for you. First up, this bowl that I made (Madelin and I took a glass-blowing lesson, more pictures of that on Facebook). Turned out pretty awesome.

Also I have some cool panorama photographs for you! I've been using this awesome program on my iphone called Photosynth, and it allows you to take pictures of the whole 360 degrees of your environment, and will piece them together to recreate it. I think the coolest part about it though is that for each one it also converts the whole thing to a single picture, which is what you're seeing. The first one is from this spot at Bard where someone built this platform up in the trees.

This one is one of my favorites, it's from a bike trail in Eugene, OR. The 3D version of this is also cool. Check it out here: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=935e1afd-ed69-4296-95ba-586c1256381d

This one is in the same place, but this time I tried taking the pictures while walking around and seeing what would happen. It's actually kind of hard to do anything too messed up, cause you kind of have to trick the program since it was designed to make it as accurate as possible.

These last two, I tried doing something more abstract, and I really like how they turned out. For the first one I printed up a black and white patter I thought was cool and just held it up at every angle and took pictures. For the second one, I took a picture of a small part of this painting I'm working on, printed it up, and did the same.

  2. Whoa whoa whoa. Adam. You can't blow my mind like this without warning me.

For srs you are singlehandedly expanding this blog's repertoire. Way to go!

The bowl is gorgeous! I could totally see it being on sale at a legit home decor store. Beautiful.

And I love these photos! I think my favorite is the Eugene bike trail.

  3. Shit, I just typed a long damn comment and it deleted it. OK, again.

I am so jealous you got to do glass blowing. It looks so awesome, and I love the color, but I have so little idea about how it was made that I can't think of anything to say about it except it looks so awesome.

And I totally agree with Rachael. You are bringing the quality of this WAY up by adding more mediums.

For the panoramic pictures, I don't know how you did that either, but it looks so cool. My favorite is the fourth one down with the car and the people walking. I also like the park with the walkway one. What is the black and white one of? A painting?
