Photoshop got me pregnant, it's a shotgun wedding.

OK, there is a lot of digital art here, but it's not that I haven't been doing any traditional art. I am slowly plugging along at my comic, and doing self indulgent sketches. I'm just taking a photoshop class and want to learn the digital medium as much as I can while I have instruction. Also, it's really fun.

This was for my photoshop class. We had to make a magazine cover with certain tools and things that we had learned in class. I made mine like a spoof on gossip magazines. Butttt about stuff you have probably heard me talk about before. (Victorian fashion, Oscar Wilde, and sexysexy Prince Albert and his sexy hair and sexy weird mustache).

Here is a picture I made while listening to lot's of Nat King Cole, who is so suave and I want to rub my face on his face. He's just so suave.

Did this to see how to do a ghost effect thing, and as a quickie for a deviant art couple contest. Not crazy happy with it, but learned some stuff.

These next ones are all part of this decade series I am doing, and the great thing about a series is that it makes you draw tons of stuff that is NOT in the series.

Anyway, this is the first one, the Aughts or Zeroes. There is no good name. I just thought of JC Leyendecker, who I think Rachael might like, cause he draws BEAUTIFUL aryan looking men a lot. So handsome. So handsome.

This is the Ten's picture. It is totally based on Tadzio from Death in Venice, which I have rewatched. The swimsuits and clothes and colors are so sexy. I wish those swimsuits were popular again.

The Twenties. I just wanted to draw drag...

The Thirties. An orange grove. I tried to draw this while on pain meds for my wisdom teeth, and Colton said "Is that Jim and Dwight?" (From The Office. That's not a compliment).

The Forties. This was a fun experiment that I don't really love the end result of. I was trying line-less art. But I love Navy uniforms.

The Fifties. This is the first picture I drew COMPLETELY DIGITALLY. Do you get it? This picture does not exist in the physical realm. Doesn't that blow your mind?

The Sixties. This was inspired by Stonewall, where Butches and Drag Queen were some of the first people fighting back, and I thought that was a great team.

minimalism

Sooo I've been pretty much working full time so the arting has been low. Here are some doodles i've done. 

I have a bad habit of drawing on myself.  This one reminds me of some of the artists rachael used to follow. Not sure their names or anything, but it seems a bit rachael-y

So one night I come home, its like 10:15 and I look at the paintings the landlady keeps on the walls and am just like, 'these suck, i hate them.' So really really quickly i made a spraypaint batman head.

It isn't the best quality, I did it in under 45min, but at least i don't have to look at the stupid pathway under trees anymore.

I was thinking the other day about how this website was supposed to be an extension of the doodle wall at sage which was supposed to be an 'everyone can draw, everything is art!' sort of thing, but now it has a lot of quality full art pieces.  not that this is bad, just something i noticed.  i will be posting more doodles once the school year starts. I also had an idea of bringing back sketchbook assignments (remember anthony neil?) since those were so much fun, but making them really low pressure. as in for a submission you could turn in a picture you took, or chalkboard doodle. no full compositions required.

I have proposed to photoshop.

Hey guys. I have been practicing photoshop, and I have to say, it is a lot of fun. I am messing around a lot and really liking the results. My favorite thing about drawing is the lineart, but this is a fun way to color that, and really mess around, since mistakes can be fixed, things can quickly be radically changed. It's awesome for experimenting.

OK, I had SO much fun doing this one. I have always been super into the idea of Batboys. I don't know what would be better, to be a baseball player, and have a sexy ass batboy at my beck and call, or to be a batboy, and have a front row view of a whole harem of baseball players. And Ohhhhhh man pinstripes and the socks pulled up turn me onnnn.

Also, I had a lot of fun doing the colors to make it a little but old timey, like the dull blues/browns and stuff.

Also, yes, it's supposed to be SUPER gay.

Some drawing for the short period of time that I wanted to draw a background.

I was trying to create a older, browner feel here, and I did it while watching Rio Bravo with John Wayne, (which is just OK) and I was working on browns and dull blues and stuff, but mostly I was figuring out how to subtle-y use textures to make photoshop less sterile looking.

This is a panel I like, so I colored it. I like vertical compositions.

OK, so I have been listening to the Deathly Hallows on tape while drawing, so it was inevitable that I would end up doing some Harry Potter fanart. This is Grindlewald, which you dummies probably don't even remember. It's the dude Dumbledore had a short affair with when he was a kid, but then he turned out to be totally psycho.

I think that this picture is one of my favorites in terms of textures with photoshop. I mean, I learned a lot about it doing this picture.

And last but not least, my 13 year old self possessed me and drew some cheesy line art that I had to color. It's Sirius and Lupin when they were kids. I am basically a pervy old man, cause school uniforms totally turn me on. Also, sweater-vests.

I remember when I read the 3rd book when I was 13, and going "Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay."

Awesome.

raining on the parade? stealing thunder?

Hey i know there have been a bunch of really good recent posts and i don't want to rain on the parade or steal anyone's thunder but if i don't do this now, i never will lol.  DUUUUMP

So this is my house/apartment. Basically it used to be a house and then the landlady bought it and divided it up into apartments. So its weirdly divided inside.

office! this is my non-paying job.  interning for cornell alumni magazine. today i interviewed someone, taped it, transcribed it, and tomorrow i will begin writing a short profile to be published. playing reporter is actually kindof fun.

in any case its a real 'office' so i feel pretty grown up. and my boss told me one day that i can't wear short shorts to work...so thats pretty grown up too.

This is what i do for my not very grown up job. There isn't a picture of me doing it...because its hard to take pictures of myself working zip lines but this is basically the job. thats my aunt too.

and while we're on the subject of reunion (thats why my aunt was zip lining at cornell), just for stacy here is a picture of my dad in college. he's pretty freaking adorable. i want to be his friend so bad.  but its ok because i guess we're friends now... one night while my parents were here, they stayed up til 3am singing karaoke.... 

OK so dakota knows i still draw. its just that now i don't really have time to have projects and finished looking things. in any case here is an indie guy and some friend of my roommate's

now this is fan art. what happened was i went onto deviant art to look at dakota's stuff and got really REALLY (like go to bed at 4am) distracted and was just exercising my hand eye coordination by going around copying stuff other people did, so none of this is original at all, heads up. its not even original fan art, its like fan art fan art.

ok so THIS is original, and it is laura. basically one day we went to ithaca fest and she looked like a cool indie urban superhero because she was standing in a power stance and i tried to draw it later and this is what it is. 

more airport pictures.  pretty much every time i fly here/home i have like, a 3-7 hour layover. and i just creep around the airport drawing sleeping people.

omg these people were SO funny. at first i thought they were speaking some foreign language and then i realized they just had super heavy scottish accents.  and there was this grumpy old man who was making jokes about champagne breakfast but he said champagne brrrrrrrreakfast.

i was drawing this white guy and was sitting next to these two asian boys and at some point they started talking to me.  one was 9 the other 7 and that guy i was drawing was their dad. so i was basically sitting next to these kids and started creeping on their dad. aaanyways they were cute and wanted to know if i was korean and if i was going to be an artist and wanted to take a picture of me with my sketchbook.

i saw like five people at the airport wearing cowboy hats. i realized its because if you have a cowboy hat and are going somewhere on a plane, you have to wear it on the plane otherwise it won't fit in your suitcase.

Hey Guys, Adam here. I know it's been a while since my last post.Here is my latest painting. It kind of comes from the whole "color factory" theme, but this time shows inside the factory. I also tried to add some dimension to it by painting the sides of the canvas and having the color smoke leave through the painted frame. Hope you all like it.

Last Fashion Illustrations and some Photoshop

Hey guys. More stuff.

This is the first thing I did in my fashion class. We had to do an illustration of a woman. Then at the end of the semester, we had to re-do the illustration. I was pretty happy with the improvement.

This was an illustration were we advertised something like makeup or shampoo. I cut out the advertisement in the photo. My main critique was she was too manly, but I like that. I did the hair like you did, Allison, in your Tadzio picture. (I do that with blonde hair a lot).

The last thing I did for my fashion class. We had to do three figures, and one of the outfits had to come from our fashion center. The girls dress was taken from the fashion center, it was made in 1911. The other girl and guy I made up based on what I would want my opium den to look like. (Sexy boys with poppies, and butch ladies... it's an Oscarwildegasm).

I thought of the possibility of Batwoman fighting Poison Ivy in the future, and the sadomasochistic possibilities there are endless.

Sorry for this one Allison. This is Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. Justice League makes me want to make Batman and Superman gay for eachother. I think Batman would be all cold to Superman, but Bruce would be his typical assholey self. Oh man, the possibilities make me want to read fanfiction.

More photoshop practice. I wanted to draw a fairy tale-ish picture, with a lady sailor. Why are those two little white stripes on navy blue so sexy? It makes my stomach flip. Also, drawing ships is actually really fun.
